Basalt
Basalt is a small mountain town with a big sense of community. It’s charming walkable down town area offers many commercial businesses for locals and tourists alike. You can find everything from hair salons, small locally sourced grocers, locally owned coffee shops, yoga studios and restaurants galore. Basalt is situated in the heart of the Roaring Fork Valley at the junction of the Frying Pan and Roaring Fork Rivers. Both rivers are well known for their fly fishing, kayaking and rafting. Basalt is perfectly situated at 6,610 ft allowing it to have a near perfect climate year round. Just a short drive up along the Frying Pan River, will get to the Reudi Reservoir which is located within the White River National Forest. Not only does the Reservoir hold and provide water to the Western Slope, you can also camp, boat and fish on and around it.
