Carbondale
Carbondale is a fun and funky town where the Cowboys, Yogis and Farmers all meet in one beautiful location. It resides at an elevation of 6, 181 ft at the base of Mt. Sopris. Carbondale historically got its start with potato farming and cattle ranches. It is now known as the bread basket of the valley where you can find many locally owned and operated organic farms as well as pasture raised cattle ranches. Don’t be surprised if when driving through town you come across a cattle drive.
If you are looking for outdoor activities, in Carbondale you can find many; hiking, biking, kayaking and fishing just to name a few. In the Winter you can cross-country ski at the beautiful Spring Gulch Nordic Center.
For the food enthusiast, you can find everything from healthy lighter fair at The Beet, to Mediterranean delights at The Goat and for the Sushi enthusiast look no further than Izakaya, the sister restaurant to Aspens Kenichi.
